In December 2021, Cargill announced its intention to acquire the majority of Croda’s Performance Technologies and Industrial Chemicals business to expand its bioindustrial footprint and better serve industrial manufacturers searching for ‘greener’ ingredient solutions. We are delighted to share that the acquisition was completed on June 30, 2022, and the former Croda’s Smart Materials business officially became part of Cargill Bioindustrial.

750 employees from around the world

The acquisition is Cargill’s largest for its bioindustrial business, welcoming almost 750 employees from around the world. According to the company, nearly 85 percent of the raw materials used to manufacture the products that will be added to Cargill’s bioindustrial portfolio are renewable and/or bio-based.
