In the Charter of Turin Handbook, which was first presented in Bucharest in mid-November 2017, Jürgen Book devotes a great deal of attention to classic car refinishing and describes the refinishing process, the functional properties of automotive paints and professional refinishing. Book is responsible for Glasurit’s classic car business.

The two million members of the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), the international federation of historic vehicles, which was founded in 1966 in Paris, are provided with diverse insights into the assessment of automotive finishes and information on how they can use the condition of the paint system to find out about a classic car’s previous history and maintenance level.

About Classic Car Colors

Glasurit, BASF’s premium refinish brand, has developed Classic Car Colors, a comprehensive program that brings together numerous aspects of refinishing classic cars in keeping with their original colors and paint application techniques, ranging from color analysis to finding qualified body shops. Classic Car Colors, the world's largest color database with more than 250,000 colors and 600,000 mixing formulas, provides the basis for this.

Since 2016, Glasurit has been the cooperation partner of FIVA and has been the technical consultant for paint-related issues. One of FIVA's priorities involves the preservation of historic vehicles, which are an important element of technical cultural heritage. To achieve this objective, FIVA also works with UNESCO.
