Siegwerk opens Europe’s largest fully automated production plant for printing inks
Siegwerk, a supplier of printing inks for packaging applications and labels, has opened a new fully automated system for the production of customer inks at its headquarters in Siegburg.
With the start-up, the so-called Blending Center is now the largest fully automated production facility for printing inks in Europe. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is thus an example of the networked industry 4.0. The new Blending Center is already running successfully in test operation and will soon be able to operate at full capacity.
Increased productivity at the Siegburg site
The new mixing plant meets all current legal requirements and offers consistent product quality through standardised processes as well as stable delivery performance through expanded capacities. Compared to the previous production setup, the processes become more efficient and transparent, thus increasing the productivity of the site. In addition, the new facility enables safer and cleaner production than before, supporting Siegwerk’s sustainability efforts.
