Siegwerk expands presence in Latin America
With the acquisition of Tupahue Tintas, a Brazilian provider of inks, varnishes and solvents for flexo and gravure printing, Siegwerk further strengthens its local footprint in Latin America.
Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA has signed a contract to purchase family-owned Tupahue Tintas.
Headquarters in São Paulo
Siegwerk’s purchase offer includes the transfer of all technical expertise and product portfolio as well as the manufacturing equipment related to Tupahue’s headquarters in Diadema (São Paulo). Tupahue Tintas’ portfolio covers flexo and gravure printing inks and varnishes suitable for substrates like LDPE, HDPE, BOPP, PP, polyolefin, polyester, aluminium, metallized films and others.
Growing demand for packaging
“With the purchase of Tupahue Tintas we add an ink provider with products for packaging applications to Siegwerk,” says Andrea Serturini, President & Head of LATAM region at Siegwerk. “You can see a growing demand for customised applications and high-end packaging in Latin America. When it comes to packaging, flexo and gravure solvent-based are still the major printing processes used in the region.”
