September issue: Wood coatings in the focus
People have been using wood as a building material for centuries. This natural building material is gaining more and more public attention due to its sustainability and the fact that it stores carbon. Water-based coating systems are becoming increasingly significant. However, these systems still display some weaknesses compared to solvent-borne systems. Their drying times in particular mean that water-based systems cannot currently compete with solvent-borne systems. Take a look at the technical articles on pages 18 and 32, which each offer solutions for aqueous polyurethane coatings and score especially well on short drying times.
During the European Coatings Live (www.european-coatings.com/live) on 24 September at 15.00 CET, Dr Eva Tejada Rosales from Covestro will be talking about a new 2K water-borne polyurethane system that can be used without sacrificing drying time.
