Excelitas Technologies has announced plans to consolidate the production of its Noblelight products into a single expanded facility in the Rhine-Main region by the end of 2027. Currently, Noblelight products—including UV LEDs, lamps, analytical light sources, and infrared emitters and systems—are manufactured across four sites near Frankfurt, Germany.

With an investment exceeding USD 20 million, Excelitas aims to optimize operations and improve efficiency. The new location will house not only production but also research and development (R&D) and administrative functions.

“We are strengthening our operational position for continued production of Noblelight technology in Germany,” said Roland Eckl, Managing Director of Excelitas Noblelight. This strategic move will make the company “more unified, more efficient, and ultimately more competitive.”

Background on the consolidation

This consolidation follows Excelitas’ acquisition of Noblelight from Heraeus in January 2024. The initiative seeks to create synergies across business units and secure the long-term market position of the company’s specialty lighting and lamp technologies.

The expanded facility will serve as the central hub for the development and production of specialty lamp-based lighting solutions. Excelitas’ investment underscores its commitment to maintaining high-quality technologies “Made in Germany.”
