Bio-based product for intumescent paint application

Glycerol carbonate (GC) is a bio-based hydroxyl cyclic carbonate for intumescent paint application.
Daxsol glycerol carbonate offers a great alternative to replace or partially substitute some of the main components in intumescent paints/coatings (e.g. melamine or pentaerythritol) by playing a key role in the expansion of the paint layer, with the remaining molecule integrated in the formation of the char.

Regular expansion of the coating foam and good adherence in the surface, during and after heat exposure, preventing detachment, are the main technical criteria that GC can help improve. Use this new bio-based product to formulate high-performing intumescent paints that face new challenges in extremely hot conditions.
