The latest development from ICL is Halox 580, a liquid corrosion inhibitor suitable for both water- and solvent-based coatings. The inhibitor is an EU Ecolabel compliant, low VOC, and 50 % bio-based product, with a clean MSDS. The additive can be easily post-added in the formulation or added in the letdown stage.
At the recommended dosages of 2-3 %, it offers a cost-effective, sustainable solution to tackling corrosion in tough environments and with difficult substrates. Compatible with most resin chemistries, this inhibitor is the additive of choice for the long-term corrosion protection of clear coats, primers and direct-to-metal coatings.
