Dr. Patrick Dodds
Dr. Patrick Dodds, CEO and founder of Hexigone Inhibitors, leads a high-tech manufacturing company specialising in innovative corrosion inhibitors for the coatings industry. He is recognised as a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow, with over two decades of expertise in chemistry and materials engineering.Back in 2015, while studying his PhD, Patrick made a pivotal breakthrough. While pioneering a new approach to corrosion protection through smart-release vehicles he discovered a mechanism of protection that outperformed hexavalent chromate, the leading corrosion inhibitor in the market, while synergistically replacing zinc phosphate. The technological breakthrough was Intelli-ion®, an award-winning, ‘smart’, anti-corrosion additive, offering sustainable, C5 corrosion protection.
From a lab discovery to global sales in less than five years. Driven by his vision: ‘to provide resource conscious, disruptive solutions for a sustainable tomorrow’ Patrick has secured multi-billion dollar clients, three multi-regional patents and a robust commercial and technical team, in Wales and worldwide, forging partnerships with 17 global distributors.
