EC Webinar on behalf of Evonik: Evonik Coating Additives’ sustainable solutions to defossilize coatings, paints and inks

15.00 h CET

Evonik Coating Additives supports its customers to reduce the carbon footprint of coatings and inks with innovative, sustainable solutions: mass balancing and biosurfactants.

Mass balancing involves mixing virgin fossil raw materials with renewable or circular materials in existing systems and production processes. The proportion of renewable material is then allocated mathematically to specific products. This approach allows customers to enjoy the same reliable performance while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract

Evonik Coating Additives supports its customers to reduce the carbon footprint of coatings and inks with innovative, sustainable solutions: mass balancing and biosurfactants.

Mass balancing involves mixing virgin fossil raw materials with renewable or circular materials in existing systems and production processes. The proportion of renewable material is then allocated mathematically to specific products. This approach allows customers to enjoy the same reliable performance while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This Webinar will showcase two solutions from the Evonik Coating Additives’ polyether siloxane portfolio that significantly reduce the product carbon footprint while maintaining superior application performance. The second part of the Webinar will cover biosurfactants. Produced by microorganism’s trough a unique fermentation process, biosurfactants are derived from 100% renewable sources and have a much lower carbon footprint compared to classical surfactants. They offer excellent performance, exceptional pigment and filler wetting capabilities, and an environmentally friendly profile with very low VOC levels, as well as compliance with EU Ecolabel.
