The April issue of the European Coatings Journal is out.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging not only for individuals, but for many companies, too – including those in the automotive industry. But it is not only the consequences of the pandemic that concern the sector, but also pre-existing aspects such as sustainability, which is still very important.

Sustainability is on everyone’s lips. In the automotive industry, topics such as electromobility, fuel-efficient engines, less hazardous substances for coatings and increasingly compact automotive components, for e.g. motors, play an important role.

Our main technical article (page 16) focuses on sustainability features of automotive coatings. In their article, the authors present anti-friction coatings for car engines which were downsized, but generate greater temperatures because of it.
