Architectural coatings are in the focus of the March issue of the Euopean Coatings Journal.

What’s the future for architectural coating development? In our Expert Voices section, both our experts agreed that the sustainability aspect plays a very important role, which will further increase in the future.

Fortunately, awareness of climate change impacts has risen, both on the industry and consumer side. Companies are working on numerous projects to reduce the carbon footprint of a coating, enable better recycling, include more bio-based materials, decrease waste etc. In a technical paper, Dr Stefan Baueregger and Dr Lada Bemert of Wacker Chemie report on a new product line based on dispersible polymer powders, which allows manufacturers to produce interior wall paints in powder form. The technology does not require the addition of biocides (page 20).

In our monthly webcaston 23 March, 15.00 CET, Dr Lada Bemert will expand on these findings. Registration is free of charge
