December issue: Powder Coatings in the focus
The December issue of the European Coatings Journal is out. It features a full package on powder coatings: a market report, a product overview and expert interviews.
Powder coatings still account for a small amount of the global coatings market but offer a lot of potential for growth. The powder coatings market has experienced some setbacks due to the Covid-19 pandemic but is recovering. Driving the growth are electric vehicles, hyperdurability and low-temperature cure technology. Our market report gives a detailed picture on the situation (page 12). Moreover, the product overview (page 16) shows a selection of binders for powder coatings.
Minerals can contribute to the performance of powder coatings and our focus article centers around the question, which one give the best outcome (page 18). The team from Imerys found out that non-blocky minerals, such as calcined kaolin, perlite and wollastonite prove advantageous for conferring opacity and offer scope for titanium dioxide reduction.
