In a new paper, 3-(2-Aminoethylamino) propyldimethoxymethylsilane modified graphene oxide (A-GO) and glass fiber (GF) were incorporated into Epoxy (EP) matrix, and EP/GF/A-GO composite coating with dual physical barrier network was prepared. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) showed that the impedance modulus of EP/GF/A-GO composite coating was highest among the different coatings, indicting EP/GF/A-GO composite coating with dual physical barrier network could significantly enhance the corrosion protection properties.

Excellent anti-corrosion protection performance

Even after 45 days of immersion, the value of impedance modulus of the EP/GF/A-GO composite coating was above 3.9 × 107 Ω cm2. Moreover, the anti-corrosion protection mechanism of EP/GF/A-GO composite coating was investigated. EP/GF/A-GO composite coating has an excellent anti-corrosion protection performance.
