Superhydrophobic coating with multiscale structures
Silanised polyacrylate (PSA) was synthesised via free radical copolymerisation of acrylate monomers and vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS). Then, the silicone methoxyls of the VTMS units were crosslinked by a condensation reaction with hydroxy terminated polydimethylsiloxane (HTPDMS) to form crosslinked silanised polyacrylate (CPSA).
High corrosion resistance
The surface wetting property, surface morphology, mechanical robustness and anticorrosion performance of the CPSA/SiO2 coatings were systematically studied. The results demonstrated that the coatings could be expediently sprayed onto substrates to create a water-repellent surface, and possessed good mechanical robustness and high corrosion resistance against NaCl solutions.
