On 14 July 2021, a flood disaster left a trail of devastation in the valley of the Ahr River and affected many medium-sized businesses there, among others.

One of these businesses was Jansen in Ahrweiler. According to a company statement, everything has been done in recent months to restore the company’s ability to act and deliver. “At the moment, there is a lot of pioneering spirit here at the plant. Of course, pioneers also have to deal with adversities and obstacles, but they know how to deal with them,” says Managing Director Peter Jansen.

A new start in the Ahr valley

So now there is a new beginning. According to the company, it is precisely the Ahrweilit filler that has always been considered a central product. And whether by chance or not, 100 years after it was first packaged, it now marks another milestone – by being the first product that can be packaged on site again after the flood.
