BASF starts Corona vaccinations at Ludwigshafen site
BASF’s vaccination center is subject to the legal regulations that apply to all vaccination centers in Germany. The vaccine is distributed centrally by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Labor, Health and Demography of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
BASF also has to comply with the state’s specifications regarding the vaccination sequence. In accordance with this prescribed order, employees of BASF SE and BASF subsidiaries at the Ludwigshafen site who belong to vaccination group 2, for example due to severe previous illnesses, are vaccinated first.
Vaccination center on the site
BASF’s Corona Vaccination Center is located on the site near Gate 11, where a multifunctional hall has been specially converted. Vaccination booths were set up, walkways marked out, waiting and rest rooms defined – all strictly in accordance with the state government’s specifications. The first vaccine doses arrived at BASF in Ludwigshafen on Monday last week. Since the end of the previous week, vaccination appointments can be requested online via an internal registration tool.
The state government of Rhineland-Palatinate has accredited the BASF Vaccination Center as an official Corona vaccination center as part of the “Company Vaccinations” model project and has assured BASF of weekly deliveries of vaccine.
