Baumit opens new plant near Hamburg
According to Baumit, it has invested EUR 16 million in the new construction of the Wittenborn site near Hamburg. This is intended to increase the availability of the entire product range throughout the north.
The old plant acquired in 2015 was replaced by a new one. According to the company, this is one of the most modern dry mortar mixing plants with which Baumit can achieve a capacity of up to 130,000 tonnes per year.
New construction during ongoing operations
The plant was built by BTW Plant Solutions from Eggersdorf/Graz. At 62.5 metres (twice as high as the old plant), the company built the highest mixing plant to date in their 25-year company history. A challenge for those involved was the new construction during ongoing operations.
