Byk Netherlands invests in new plant for solvent-based wax dispersions
Byk Additives is starting 2024 with a significant investment in the Netherlands. On January 11, Byk Netherlands celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new production plant in Deventer. In a state-of-the-art process plant, which will replace the existing plant, solvent-based wax dispersions will be produced here to meet current and future customer needs – in line with existing and future regulatory requirements, of course. Byk is investing a double-digit million euro amount in the new production plant
“We are investing in the solvent-based wax business to meet the growing demand for these specialty products from key Byk customers. With this significant investment, we are ideally positioned to continue to be a reliable partner in the sustainable development of our global customer base,” says Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch, Byk business unit manager.
Solvent-based wax dispersions are used around the world in the production of sheet metal emulsions and metal strips, automotive coatings and printing inks as well as wood and industrial coatings. The new plant is scheduled to go into production at the end of 2026.
