Geholit+Wiemer becomes part of the Kabe Swiss Group

Geholit+Wiemer now belongs to the Swiss Kabe Swiss Group as of January 2021. The Bubenhofer family has acquired all shares in the German, medium-sized manufacturer of coating materials as part of a succession solution.

The takeover was preceded by decades of partnership. Image source: rawpixel - pixabay (Symbol).

Geholit+Wiemer was previously also family-owned and will continue to operate with its sites in Germany and abroad as an independent company under the umbrella of the Swiss group.

For Geholit+Wiemer, the merger of the two family-owned companies is a future-oriented further development: “Together, we combine more than two centuries of experience, know-how and innovation in the field of paints and coatings. In addition, the cooperation that we enjoy underscores the values that our companies share. This is the ideal prerequisite for a merger,” says Christian Wiemer, until now managing partner.

Decades of partnership

The takeover was preceded by decades of partnership. Since 1988, Geholit+Wiemer and Karl Bubenhofer AG, known as Kabe Farben, have operated a sales company for powder coatings in Germany. Dr. Stephanie Bubenhofer, who runs Karl Bubenhofer AG with her brothers Andreas and Christoph Bubenhofer, points to the advantages of the takeover: “We have known each other for a long time. The cooperation has always been constructive and friendly. Our products and the portfolio of Geholit+Wiemer complement each other perfectly. This strengthens us as a group and makes our offering even more competitive on the markets.”
