Hats off to young scientists
Only aged 16 and 17, the young inventors have just presented their fascinating project focusing renewable raw materials at the nationwide final of “Jugend forscht”, the most popular German contest for young talents in mathematics, IT, natural sciences, and technology. Afterwards they could take home the special award in chemistry.
Hats off to the young scientists that occupy themselves so thoroughly with future technologies. Who says that today’s kids are only interested in smart phones and fancy clothes!
I believe that the three youngsters also arouse other young people’s interest with their bio topic: their “Gela-Tape” is a compostable adhesive film consisting of natural degradable raw materials.
By the way, the young scientists are participants of the support programme “Fraunhofer MINT-EC Chemie Talents“, sponsored by the German adhesives industry association IVK. What I find great, too, is that a major adhesives manufacturer has invited the award winners the company’s own laboratories. I think there should be more of those future cooperations.
