Interview: “We are always open to acquisitions.
What led to the decision to acquire the spray paint systems segment from Klumpp coatings?
Klaus Fritzsche: Under the “Rosner” brand, Mipa provides a complete range of products for almost all wood applications – for both trade and the wood-processing industry. In addition to conventional solvent-borne coating systems, We also develop water-based and modern high-solid and UV systems. It is precisely this broad product range that is a good match to the requirements of the customer base divested by Klumpp and our overall mission to provide customers with comprehensive support, produce quantities that meet their needs and still take into account individual customer requirements. At the same time, synergies within this business segment and the customers that we already serve provided an excellent basis for this acquisition.
Where do you see the potential for growth?
Fritzsche: Based on our sales structure and our product range, the customers we have taken on are an excellent fit for our own customer base. We are certain that we can quickly and comprehensively meet customer requirements and applications. As we strive to support our customers at all stages of the coating process, there are often opportunities for further growth potential. Purely on this basis we would assume that customers in many sectors would wish to focus on one long-term partner having had various suppliers to date.
To what extent are you planning further acquisitions or investments?
Fritzsche: We are always open to acquisitions that fit with our portfolio and align with our focus. Every year we plan investments in our manufacturing areas, extensions to our facilities, and further development of our sales structures around the world. First and foremost, this enables us to customise our service even further to address specific requirements and increases the proximity we have to our customer.
