MC-Bauchemie Australia acquires BCS trading business

MC-Bauchemie Australia has acquired the building chemicals trading business of Building Chemical Supplies.

MC-Bauchemie Australia, a recently formed subsidiary of the MC-Bauchemie Group, has acquired the assets of the building chemicals trading business of Building Chemical Supplies.

Dr. Ekkehard zur Mühlen, Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie, and Blair Edmonds, Managing Director of BCS, sealed the transaction, which is effective immediately. As part of the acquisition, seven employees and two sites including warehouses in the Sydney and Melbourne region have transferred to MC-Bauchemie Australia. In addition, the warehouse in Brisbane will be used temporarily by BCS.

Focus on core competence

BCS was a major distributor of MC products in Australia for over nineteen years. Following the sale of some of its assets to MC-Bauchemie Australia, the Group will now focus on its already successful applicator business and remain a leading specialist in chemical grouting in Australia. have decided to focus on our core application expertise and transfer the construction chemicals trading business to MC.” This will allow both companies to focus on their strengths and further develop their core business.

Zur Mühlen emphasizes that the timing for the separation of the trading and application business is ideal. MC-Bauchemie aims to expand its business and brand awareness in the Australian market and meet the challenges of the technologically advanced Australian construction and maintenance industry.

Expansion in the Australian market

MC-Bauchemie Australia will initially start with its own offices and warehouses in the Sydney and Melbourne metropolitan areas and plans to open additional branches across the country in the near future. In addition, MC-Bauchemie Australia will be more closely integrated into MC’s global supply chains, supported by Justyna Iwanska, Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie Malaysia.

Over the coming months, the business units will be gradually unbundled, with some warehouses being temporarily shared. MC-Bauchemie Australia and BCS look forward to a successful collaboration in their respective specialties and are confident to further strengthen.
