Mipa invests in expanded storage capacities
At a capital expenditure cost of around EUR 2 million, the project aims to create additional storage capacity for the raw materials and packaging materials needed in production. In addition, three new loading docks will facilitate the loading and unloading of trucks. The planned link to the existing production building will also optimise production processes and internal logistics. For this purpose, an existing building on the eastern boundary of the site, which was about 60 years old and largely unused, was first demolished to create space for the new building of about 1400 m2. Before construction began, an explosive ordnance investigation was carried out on site, as the Mipa site is located in a district of Landshut, which was heavily affected by bombing during the Second World War.
“Prepared for future challenges”
“Due to the rapidly increasing production figures, the new building is an essential step and at the same time the basis for further growth“ Markus Fritzsche, CEO of MIPA SE explained. “With the new building, the Landshut production site will be prepared for future challenges and expanded in terms of capacity.” At the end of 2018, MIPA SE took over the site of Landshuter Lackfabrik GmbH with 56 employees. Two years ago, on 01.01.2021, the two companies merged. Today the Mipa site in Landshut has almost 100 employees. The Mipa Group employs more than 1500 people worldwide.
