Mipa takes over Süddeutsches Lackwerk
In the future, the products will be manufactured at the locations of the Mipa Group. All employees of the Süddeutsches Lackwerk are to be offered jobs at nearby locations within the Mipa Group, so that the takeover will also mean that employment relationships can be continued, if desired.
For Mipa, the takeover of the Süddeutsches Lackwerk business means a further expansion of its customer base and product portfolio in the industrial coatings sector. Last but not least, the regional proximity should ensure a smooth takeover: “We are certain that this takeover is a perfect solution for customers in our regional home market, since on the one hand it means that regional proximity will remain and on the other hand a large number of other products and solutions will be available for future-oriented cooperation,” emphasises Markus Fritzsche, CEO of Mipa SE.
“Coating production in Feldkirchen is coming to an end”
Thomas di Filippo, Managing Director of Süddeutsches Lackwerk, is also sure that he has made the right decision with the sale: “After 100 years of company history, coating production in Feldkirchen is now coming to an end. It was very difficult for us to take this step. However, the environment for a relatively small company in the paint industry has become increasingly difficult in recent years due to the Corona pandemic, the resulting shortages of raw materials, the unpredictable changes in the prices of all raw materials and, last but not least, the increasing bureaucratisation and regulation, and the lack of a successor within the family meant that it no longer made sense to continue the company,” says Thomas Di Filippo.
