Nordmann: New partnership with Cromogenia Units
International chemical distributor Nordmann and Cromogenia Units have been working together since last year in the field of polycarbonate diols (PCDL), water-based binders (polyurethane dispersions & acrylate emulsions) and hydrophilic HDI-based polyisocyanates in the DACH region. The products are used in the polyurethane and colour coatings industry. The focus of the co-operation is on sustainable raw materials.
Nordmann is pleased to announce a new partnership with Cromogenia Units, a company based in Barcelona that focuses on the development and production of a wide range of chemical specialities, particularly environmentally friendly products and sustainable solutions.
Cromogenia Units’ product range includes polycarbonate diols under the trade name ROPOL. They are used for the production of prepolymers, polyurethane dispersions, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) and elastomers (TPEs). The ROPOL grades combine hydrolytic stability, weathering resistance and wear resistance with a high degree of flexibility. No heavy metals are used in the production of polycarbonate diols, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to other conventional products.
Polycarbonate diols are used in seals, hoses and coatings, as they improve the adhesion and durability of polyurethane products. In adhesive formulations, they also ensure good adhesion to various substrates such as metal, wood and plastic and contribute to the elasticity and sealing properties of polyurethane sealants.
Polyurethane dispersions
In addition to PCDLs, Nordmann also sells polyurethane dispersions from Cromogenia Units, some of which are UV-crosslinkable. The products are used, for example, in wood coatings for furniture and parquet flooring, some of which are also UV-curable, but also in construction coatings, in particular water-repellent membranes, floor coatings, flexible roof coatings, plastic coatings and metal coatings.
