Personnel changes at BASF

Julia Raquet as new President of Europe, Middle East and Africa and Dr. Martin Volland as new President of Nutrition & Health.

Julia Raquet, Senior Vice President, Nutrition Ingredients, Ludwigshafen, will take over as President of the Europe, Middle East and Africa division based in Ludwigshafen on February 1, 2024. She succeeds Dr. Katja Scharpwinkel, who was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE on February 1, 2024.

Dr. Martin Volland, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Sustainability, Ludwigshafen, will take over as President of the Nutrition & Health division based in Ludwigshafen on March 1, 2024. He succeeds Anup Kothari, who was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE on March 1, 2024.

New impetus at BASF

Raquet, born in 1975 in Essen, Germany, studied business administration in Germany and the USA and received an MBA from UNCG in North Carolina, USA. She has extensive experience in various senior positions at BASF, including Vice President Sales and Vice President Global Marketing Human Nutrition, before becoming Senior Vice President Nutrition Ingredients.

Volland, born in 1973, studied chemistry at the University of Heidelberg, where he received his doctorate in 2001. He began his career at BASF in 2002 as a Scientist and has since held various positions, including Executive Assistant to President of R&D and Senior Vice President Corporate Strategy & Sustainability. Prior to his current position as President Nutrition & Health, he was Senior Vice President Global Business Unit Hygiene.
