Small change + Epoxy resin = A social media hit
27,000 pennies are getting sealed with a 2-component epoxy system.
Matt Giles is a father of two from the UK. Every now and then he uploads a video to Youtube about his activities with his daughters. On a good day, he might get 300 views.
A video of a recent flooring project has taken that figure to whole new dimensions. More than 300,000 people have watched it on Youtube. The video was then put on Facebook and has been viewed a staggering 113 million times – and counting.
It shows Giles renewing his kitchen floor. Instead of using wooden flooring or tiles, he stuck 27,000 pennies one by one onto the floor of his kitchen. As the video demonstrates, this is a time-consuming task that is hard to do on one’s own. He then sealed the floor with a 2-component epoxy system.
Do you know of any crazy projects where coatings play an important role? If so, do let me know – I’d love to hear your suggestions!
