Laboratory high speed disperser for vacuum mixing
The Ross model “HSM-100LH-3” can be supplied with a vacuum-rated mix vessel including a heating/cooling jacket and mixer cover with sight/charge ports. Interchangeable saw-tooth disperser blades are available (2″, 3″, 3.5″ and 4” diameter), suitable for variable speed operation up to 4,800 rpm. All wetted parts are stainless steel type 316.
Wetting out solids
High speed dispersers are useful for wetting out solids and creating a uniform, air-free suspension or solution under vacuum. The classic open-style saw-tooth disc blade generates a vortex on the liquid surface into which powders and other minor components are added for quick incorporation. Rapid turnover and vigorous flow patterns are achieved throughout a wide range of viscosity: from water-like to around 50,000 centipoise.
The disperser is driven by a 3HP VFD-rated motor. Safety limit switches prevent operation of the mixer while in the raised position or without a mix vessel in place. A 3HP inverter is mounted to the mixer and wired to the motor and limit switches for single-point electrical hook-up. The mixing head is raised by means of an air/oil hydraulic lift with pushbutton controls (requires 80-100 psig air source).
