Where is REACH heading?
The ninth Fresenius User Meeting on November 20 and 21 in Dortmund, Germany, offered an extensive exchange of experience and practical tips for the registration and labelling of chemicals in accordance with the European REACH and CLP regulations. The Fresenius Environmental Academy had been able to recruit proven experts from industry and public authorities.
Summary and a view into the future
“REACH”, the European Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, has been in force for more than ten years. The first pre-registrations took place in 2008. The final deadline for the registration of all chemicals produced, imported or placed on the EU market in quantities of more than one metric ton per year expired on May 31, 2018. At the Fresenius User Meeting, the speakers took stock of the first ten years under REACH and looked to the future.
