Biobased coatings in the focus of the July issue

The July and August issue of the European Coatings Journal is out. It features a full package on bio-based coatings: a market report, a product overview and expert interviews.

Biobased coatings are the focus topic of the July/August issue of the European Coatings Journal.

The topic bio-based is omnipresent. For some years now, developments in bio-based paints and coatings have been increasing. However, bio-based systems are still a niche segment, yet the demand for sustainable solutions is rising. What are the growth opportunities for the market? Which segments have the greatest potential? The market report, starting on page 16, addresses these and other questions in discussing the current situation and identifying potential and further developments.

In addition, this issue provides you with three technical articles on the latest developments in the field of bio-based coatings, like the report from Georg Michels, Evonik (page 28) about the use of renewable acetone from bio-based, bio-circular and circular feedstocks.

In our focus paper (page 22), Michael Bilger, Tina Leyh and Sebastian Schütz, Münzing Chemie, report about their latest results comparing coating properties when using conventional synthetic wax additives and bio-based ones. The author Sebastian Schütz will explain their findings in more detail in the web event “European Coatings Live” on 26 July at 15:00 CET. Registration is free of charge.

The complete issue is now also available at our data bank European Coatings 360. European Coatings 360° also provides registered users with the opportunity to conduct your research activities online via our quick and effective full-text search.
