Lomon Billions appoints Julie Reid as Marketing Director

Julie will report to Carl Qu, Senior Vice President, Sales. The appointment is effective immediately. Julie joined the company as marketing manager in 2014 and was responsible for the smooth transfer of the TR52 pigment business from Huntsman.

About Julie Reid

Julie has over 16 years’ experience in the titanium dioxide pigment manufacturing industry. Prior to joining Lomon Billions, she spent 14 years at Huntsman, a global chemical company. She held various management positions at Huntsman including inks and coatings marketing manager within the global marketing team; inks and coatings project scientist, where she was responsible for design and delivery of market-led product developments and improvements; and analytical physical sciences manager, where she managed the provision of physical analytical services for Huntsman’s pigments division. Julie studied at Heriot-Watt University, UK, for her Chemistry degree and holds a professional diploma in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Henan Billions Chemical Company Ltd merged with Sichuan Lomon Titanium Industry Co., Ltd to form Lomon Billions on October 28, 2016. The company’s headquarters is in Jiaozuo, China. Its European headquarters is in Stockton-on-Tees, UK, and its headquarters in the USA is in Chicago Illinois. Lomon Billions has three TiO₂ pigment production sites in China and an ilmenite mine in Panzhihua. It is the only company in China that manufactures titanium dioxide pigment using both the chloride and sulfate process. The merged company has a total annual production capacity of over 600,000 tons and is ranked 4th in the world and 1st in Asia in terms of TiO₂ pigment production capacity. In 2015 the combined TiO₂ pigment sales volume of Henan Billions and Lomon was 560,000 tons: 310,000 tons domestic and 250,000 tons export, with the export volume representing around 50% of the total TiO₂ pigment export volume from China.
