New issue of EC Journal: Bio-based coatings

A sense of urgency is driving the activity on both research and development of sustainable coatings.

-

Over the past years consumer awareness on eco-related topics has increased. And so has the demand for bio-based coatings systems.

Despite the great demand for more eco-friendly products, it is hard to justify a premium price for coating products based solely on their renewable content. However, there are growing concerns regarding the balance of two seemingly opposing issues – economy and sustainability.

In his paper Naser Pourahmady and his co-authors of Lubrizol Advanced Materials present the development of crosslinkable water-based polyurethane dispersions with renewable content (page 28).

Would you like to hear more about the water-based dispersion resins made of vegetable oil? Then tune in at www.european-coatings.com/live on 26 April 2016 at 15 CET. During his web-based presentation, which is free of charge, Naser Pourahmady will share some deeper insights.
