New video on more stable dispersions

In a recent webcast Roman Severac of Angus Chemical explained to the European Coatings community how dispersion properties can be improved with amino alcohols. The video is now available on demand in European Coatings 360°.

Dr Roman Severac explaines the potential advantages of AEDP and AMP. -

In his webcast Roman Severac explained how alkanolamines like AMP and AEPD can be used to improve the pigment particle size distribution and exploit synergistic effects with common dispersing agents. The webcast was based on a technical article that was published in the European Coatings Journal 6/2018 and explained that depending on the chemical structure, agglomerates and particle size distribution can be optimised by exploiting specific amino alcohols and their interaction with pigments and dispersing agents.

For example a 0.3 wt% share of AEDP showed that it can reduce particle size of a Titanium dioxide slurry significantly by several hundred nanometres.

Also wet abrasion resistance was shown as an example where amino alcohols and their synergy with common dispersing agents can improve paint performance.

The video of the webcast is now available online to subscribers of European Coatings 360°.
