Pigments and fillers in the focus of the March issue
The EU has classified the white pigment titanium dioxide as a Category 2 carcinogen which means it is suspected of causing cancer by inhalation. Reg Adam, Artikol, speaks on page 12 about the supply situation, price volatility and the classification. On page 30, Dr Heike Liewald and Giuliana Beck from the Association of Mineral Pigments Industry (VdMi) talk about how the classification came about and what the implications are.
Steven A. Jones will explain in our monthly European Coatings Live how modelling and optics help designers to produce next-level pigments. This webcast takes place at 15.00 CET on 24 March. As always, registration and participation are free.
