Polyurethane coatings in the focus of the February issue
Due to their good properties and variable application, polyurethane coatings have become indispensable at the market. Generally, the polyurethane market is looking promising as you can read in our market report from page 14 on. A challenge for polyurethane coatings, however, is the proposal by the European Commission to restrict the handling of substances with more than 0.1% diisocyanates to skilled personnel. You can read more on this matter as well as other trends in polyurethane coatings in our expert interviews from page 16 on.
In the focus paper (from page 20) Florian Golling and his team of Covestro present their results regarding a new form of polyurethane chemistry, making exclusive use of isocyanate moieties to form a coating or adhesive network linked together by trimers. The author will also present more details and answer questions in the European Coatings Live webinar on February 25 at 15:00 CET. Registration is free of charge.
