Powder coatings in the focus of the December issue
The December issue of the European Coatings Journal is out and features a full package on powder coatings: a market report, a product overview and expert interviews. The magazine is also available in European Coatings 360°.
Less drying time, low-weight applications, low emission – the benefits of powder coatings are well-known and speak for themselves. Still, these systems only have a share of around 8 % of the entire paints and coatings market. This will likely change in the long run due to the increasing demand for sustainable solutions, more efficient processes and durable end applications. Stricter regulations regarding VOC levels might also contribute to a growing powder coatings market.
Interestingly, Europe represents about 19.5 % of the market, while the Asia-Pacific region accounted for more than 59 % of the total powder coatings market (see our market report from page 12). This is probably due to stable economy, increasing incomes and better standards of living in a number of countries in this area.
