Uzin Utz extends company premises in Sursee
Uzin Utz Group extends its laboratories and opens a new logistics centre as well as a mechanical workshop for tillage machinery.
The completion of the second construction phase on the company’s premises in Sursee is an important milestone in the history of the Swiss companies of the Uzin Utz Group. After the construction of Sifloor AG in 2006, the extension of the laboratories, an ultra-modern logistics centre for all three Swiss companies and a mechanical workshop for tillage machinery have now been completed on the site, which covers more than 20,000 m2. The investment volume is more than 7 million euros.
Central logistics centre
From now on, the entire logistics process (goods receipt, storage, picking, retrieval and materials management) for all three Swiss companies will be handled centrally in the logistics centre on over 3,000 pallet spaces and on over 2,600 shelves using modern warehouse management software. A specially designed warehouse logistics system was implemented for this purpose.
In 2005, the city of Sursee acquired a site of over 20,000 m2 with foresight. After completion of the second construction stage, 11,000 m2 have now been used. The remaining area is earmarked for the construction of a training centre and offices as well as a land reserve.
