Novel formulation optimization using Big Data, modeling, and predictive tools [Sponsored]

This paper, which received 1st prize at the prestigious European Coatings Show Conference demonstrated how paint formulators can accelerate innovation and minimize traditional laboratory testing when using break-through Durable Matt technology from Dow in their formulations. This new predictive formulation tool is based on big data analytics and machine learning algorithms, allowing paint formulators, using self-matting water-based acrylic binders from Dow, to identify the solution most likely to meet their performance requirements before any wet chemistry bench work begins. In the future this advanced formulation capability will be extended, enabling faster and more efficient formulation optimization.
